The point being that dance music, nightclubs & especially House music was attractive to me because of its total <b>lack</b> of racism & what ended up being the 'rules' of Punk Rock which I had initially found so original & liberating. As far as school goes I wasn't always surrounded by mean black & Hispanic kids, on the contrary I was privy to the birth of Hip-Hop which was amazing for the first 10-15 yrs, & one of the most original art forms at the time. Also I was surrounded by talent in my high school. Our chorus teacher's assistant was the late great David Cole (C+C Music Factory/2 Puerto Ricans, A Black Man & A Dominican), April from the pop group Seduction, & the 2nd drummer from Slayer.
